4. The Crowborough Healthcheck process

The Crowborough Partnership divided the Healthcheck process into 6 main stages:-

Stage 1: Project initiation

• Establish aSteering Group with agreed roles and responsibilities
• Agreed publicity and communication requirements
• Launch process at a public meeting
• Identify existing information and develop of a ‘Snapshot’
• Draw in wider stakeholder involvement

Stage 2: Completing the worksheets

• Undertake consultation[3] with surrounding vilages
• Coordinate completion of 4 worksheets: Economy, Transport and Accessibility, Environment and Social and Community
• Agree a community consultation programme

Stage 3: Community consultation

• Develop the SWOT ( strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis and the Vision Statement
• Produce consultation materials[4] and publicity
• Community consultation exercises

Stage 4: Drafting the Healthcheck and Action Plan

• Partnership as a whole and the four theme groups consider the issues arising from all consultation methods
• Develop draft theme actions
• Each theme group holds 2 open public meetings to discuss the consultation and proposed draft actions
• Partnership draws together draft action plan

Stage 5: Finalising the Healthcheck and Action Plan

• Community exhibition event held on 10^th November 11am-8pm at the All Saints Centre
• Final Healthcheck and Action Plan published[5] in early 2006

Stage 6: Implementation and monitoring the actions

• Implementing the Action Plan
• Monitoring actions
• Informing the community of progress.
