Crowborough needs an integrated train
and bus service
Attention needs to be paid to the
appearance and the services provided at the train stations, both
Crowborough and Eridge, as entrances to Crowborough.
The demand and support for an evening
train service to London must be ascertained as a precursor to
getting extensions to the service
Illegal and poor parking must be
addressed in the town centre
Car parks must remain free if
Crowborough is to remain competitive
Signposting to Crowborough from outside
the town is inconsistent and needs to be improved
Better and integrated pedestrian
signposting in and around the town centre needs to be an
essential part of the redevelopment plans
The twitten network needs to be
maintained and the footpath network out into the countryside
needs to be completed.
A public footpath map would assist in
promoting walking as an activity generally and as a provision for
visitors
An Accessibility Audit in the town
centre is needed to identify shops and buildings that do provide
access for pushchairs, wheelchairs etc and which identifies areas
for improvement
It is essential that agreed projects
contained within the Crowborough Local Area Transport Strategy
are consulted upon (where necessary) and implemented as they will
have a direct impact on accessibility issues
The Easylink (Community Transport)
service for the elderly folk who cannot get around on their own
in Crowborough and the surrounding villages requires some form of
partnership funding to ensure its survival
